Estero Island has numerous restaurants and night life for your choosing, and you are in the middle of it all location-wise. Fort Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples are all modern cities with plenty of shopping, dining and sightseeing to experience.  The South West International Airport in Fort Myers is close by for convenience as well.
